A complete redesign of the RSL’s annual Review – rebuilt from the ground up – transforming it from traditional newsletter design to elegant 88pp coffee-table publication.

Given free reign to interpret the different editorials (themed around Britain, Freedom, Gatherings, Judgement, Legends, Living Archives and Translations) as I saw fit, and to source photography to illustrate as I desired. Other sections, such as News, Fellowship Awards, and Obituaries, were reworked to counterbalance the more expressive editorial content.

Re-invigorated the title as a leading channel of engagement for, and between, RSL members and Fellows.

Worked with guest curator Vahni Anthony Capildeo (RSL Fellow), Catherine Riley (Head of Communications and Partnerships, RSL) and the very talented illustrator, Karrie Fransman.

Art direction and leading the Art Team on the design of the weekly publication, including photo and illustration commissioning (examples of which can specifically be seen on the ‘Art Direction’ page).

I have redesigned the magazine for the third time (launched Dec 2018) – a complete reworking of content, structure, size, typography and colour palette.

My 2014 redesign of the Gazette was Class Winner (Magazine Redesign) at the Institute of Internal Communications Awards 2014.

While freelancing for Which? I was asked to undertake a complete redesign of Which? Travel Magazine. I art directed the first three issues, undertook all photographic research, illustration commissions and map creation.

While freelancing at Which? I was asked to art direct an issue of Which? Car magazine. I art directed the cover and feature shoots and designed the whole issue.

While freelancing at Which? I was asked to work on the redesign of their flagship title. Once completed I art directed this relaunch issue, including the cover and feature studio shoots, photo manipulation (shown) and photographic research.

'Make Your Money Work Harder' was a new finance advice supplement for Which? Magazine subscribers. Design of complete supplement.

‘Going Against The Grain’ was an update of an existing Which? publication. Design of complete supplement.

While freelancing as Art Editor (Marketing Design) I led the design of all event materials for the Which? Awards, including complete design of the Awards brochure.

Active Citizens is a British Council microsite. AC is 'a non-profit programme that promotes community cohesion and improvement through civic engagement or volunteering in around 30 countries.' Following BC's corporate guidelines I was asked to design this microsite – from wireframes to supplying layered psd files.
